My sister was so excited about me moving closer to her. We both grew up in New York, but she had moved to Georgia not long after graduating from college. I had been there to visit her a few times, and I fell in love with the area as well. When a job opportunity presented itself, I knew that I was going to try and get it. My sister was probably more excited than me when I got it! She sent me an email that said to click here, and it had about eight different apartment complex websites for me to look at.
She had already invited me to live with her until I got on my feet, but I did not want to do that for a couple reasons. First, she and her husband had only been married for just shy of a year, and I did not want to be a third wheel there. They deserved their privacy, and I intended to make sure they got it. Also, she lives nearly 30 minutes from where I would be working, and I just did not want to have that kind of commute every day.
I didn’t need to be so close to where I could walk to work every day, but I did want to limit my commute time to at least 10 or 15 minutes one way. One of the apartment complexes she had sent me the link for was Ashford Retreat, and I really liked everything about it. The setting is really nice, and it would only take me about six minutes to get to work. My sister is about 25 minutes away, but that is much better than being way up North and only seeing her once or twice a year. She is just as happy as I am about that.
